Welcome to Build Essex

Welcome to Build Essex, a network led by Essex County Council, aimed at developing the construction supply chain in the county. Whether you are a main contractor or a school looking for local construction related businesses to enhance your existing supply chain, a local business looking for work opportunities or a member of the public searching for a local construction trader, an apprenticeship, a construction job or a work experience placement, Build Essex can help. Build Essex brings together a range of Essex based construction clients and work opportunities available through their construction supply chains and a wealth of services and support for local people, local businesses, the local environment and the local economy.

Build Essex is a portal for many different industry related initiatives. Once registered, businesses of all sizes can access details of work opportunities online, complete a common pre-qualification questionnaire, respond to pricing enquiries and invitations to tender and receive tailored and intelligent business support to increase the chances of winning work from the main contractors.

Schools can search for a local sub-contractor using a detailed set of criteria to filter out only those firms who meet the schools criteria and can also search for work experience placements for students.

Members of the public can search for employment and apprenticeships and post their CV and search for a local trader to help with domestic construction projects or even post details of the work online and receive enquiries from interested sub-contractors. Members of the public can also find out about the help available for starting up a business.

Through its partnership of local public sector organisations, main contractors and business support organisations, Build Essex aims to help small and medium sized businesses and subcontractors to develop; to impact favourably on the local economy; and to promote opportunities for work for young people through apprenticeships and work experience placements.
