Date : 2013-08-07

Would you like a training grant to grow your business?

Skills for Economic Growth is an Essex County Council programme that provides 70% of the cost of training (up to £2,000) to help Essex businesses to grow. Providing the training will start by 31st March 2014 and is of an advanced level you can pick the course and provider which is right for your business.

Roberge Brickworks, a brickwork contractor based in Halstead, accessed a maximum grant of £2,000 under Skills for Economic Growth for the owner and one of the site managers to attend a NEBOSH General Certificate programme.  As a result of the training they expect a cost saving of £28,500 per year and could potentially give them an extra £100,000 worth of business over the next 12 months that they would not otherwise have had.  Rob Roberge, Managing Director, praised the ‘Skills for Economic Growth’ programme by saying that it is a ‘brilliant initiative’ and added that he was ‘impressed at how quick and painless the process’ was to apply.
